Fairview Backpack Program

What began as an outreach program to Fairview Elementary School has become a community wide outreach. The Fairview Backpack program began at the Fairview Ruritan club as members worked to supply healthy food to the local school children. The program was moved to Camp Zion Church in an effort to find a new home base. The outreach to Fairview school continued, and with the help of Twin County Regional Hospital, over fifty children receive food weekly. Since that time the partnership with TCRH has continued but the outreach has grown. The Fairview Backpack Program now partners with several local outreach programs. Each year at the end of July the Fairview Backpack Program partners with Camp Zion Church to provide back to school supplies to area children. Beginning in 2018 the Fairview Backpack Program, in partnership with Camp Zion Church will support Gods Storehouse Soup Kitchen with monthly canned food donations. Also in 2018 the Fairview Backpack Program and Camp Zion will seek to provide Easter baskets to area children.
